Description

Released during a volatile moment in The Game’s career, You Know What It Is Vol. 3 marked a defiant return to form. Following his public split from G-Unit, this tape was part retaliation, part reintroduction. With DJ Skee and Nu Jerzey Devil at the helm, the project doubled as a street-level document and an industry play, reasserting The Game’s independence while keeping ties to major voices and brands.


The tracklist reads like a battle plan: “300 Bars,” “Down 4,” and a flurry of freestyles that flexed over Dr. Dre and 50 Cent instrumentals. Redrum Virgin Island Rum sponsored the tape, a rare instance of cross-promotion between alcohol and street music before it became the norm.

More than a mixtape, it was a moment. It kept Game in rotation, solidified Skee’s place as a tastemaker, and reminded everyone where the real energy in the West was coming from.
