Louisville Slugger commemorative bat featuring a direct inscription from Hall of Famer Tony Gwynn: “Rob Meyer Best Wishes, Tony Gwynn HOF/07.” The “HOF/07” note marks Gwynn’s 2007 induction into the National Baseball Hall of Fame, where he received 97.6% of the vote on his first ballot—one of the highest percentages in MLB history. This bat was personalized to Rob Meyer, a former Cal football and baseball player who crossed paths with Gwynn during his time in the San Diego Padres front office. Gwynn’s 20-year career with the Padres included 3,141 hits, eight batting titles, and a reputation as one of the most technically precise hitters in baseball history. The inscription adds a rare layer of context and connection to an already significant piece.
