Description

Nike shoes in black and white with the “Air” logo on the heel, worn by Tony Gwynn during his time coaching at San Diego State in 2012. Though durability and hitting defined Gwynn’s Hall of Fame playing career, he also showcased speed, particularly in his prime. In 1987, he stole 56 bases, ranking fourth in Major League Baseball that season.

Over his 20 years in San Diego, Gwynn averaged 122 games per season, balancing consistency with a complete game that included occasional bursts of base-stealing prowess. This shoe reflects the equipment and style from his post-playing years, as he remained a constant presence in the game, mentoring players with the same work ethic that defined his career.
