Steel cup case presented to Tony Gwynn for the 1984 MLB All-Star Game, held at Candlestick Park in San Francisco. The game marked Gwynn’s first All-Star selection and came during what was arguably the best season of his career. That year, he led the National League in batting average (.351) and hits (213) while finishing third in MVP voting, his highest career placement.

In the midsummer classic, Gwynn batted leadoff and played left field, collecting a single in the fifth inning and stealing a base. His performance helped the National League to a 3–1 victory, adding a memorable highlight to a season that firmly established him as one of the premier players in baseball.
